English Turn provides an ideal environment for growing families. Secure, limited access manned gated entrances and community parks and playgrounds help offer a great playtime environment for children of all ages. English Turn also offers a wide variety of activities for children of all age groups.
English Turn also has a Kid's Club! Membership in the club includes a twice a month Friday evening filled with fun, games, arts & crafts and dinner from 6pm to 10pm at the Country Club. Kids can have fun with their peers while their parents dine and socialize at the Country Club. Events planned for this year are a sock hop, magic show and pony rides.
Getting to school is easier for some English Turn students and families.
English Turn offers Community School Bus service for several schools located
on the East Bank of New Orleans.
English Turn also offers a summer camp program for residents and club
members between the ages of 4 and 12. Camp is in session for seven weeks
each summer beginning the first week of June.
English Turn has its own competitive swim team, the English Turn Sharks. The
Sharks compete against other local country club swim teams and have a great
winning record!

English Turn has several community parks and tot lots equipped with playground equipment and picnic areas, in addition to full court basketball and softball diamond in one of the 6.5 acre community parks.
The centerpiece of The Parks community is a beautifully wooded, mile fitness trail with exercise stations.

The goals of the English Turn Garden Club are to promote greater interest in
the lawns and gardens of the English Turn Community, to protect and promote
the growth of English Turn's native trees, wildflowers and birds, to further
the horticultural knowledge of its members and to encourage the protection
of the English Turn environment and to preserve its beauty. Featured in the
Algiers Picayune, the English Turn Garden Club has opened a Butterfly Garden
on the West side of the English Turn Community.

The English Turn Garden Club's plans include many interesting events,
programs and field trips. The Club plans to continue development of the
Butterfly Garden near the Children's Play Area and Gazebo at the West Gate
Entrance. Plans are being formulated to beautify and plant wildflowers on
Hwy. 406. The Club's speakers include experts on many topics and the field
trips are varied and extremely well planned. The Club includes 72 paid
members and counting and consists of the following Committees: Arbor Day,
Civic Beautification, Garden of the Month, Garden Outreach,
Horticulture/Library, Memberships, Scrapbook, Telephone, Yearbook, Art in
Bloom, Butterfly Garden, Education, Cookbook and Gift Exchange.

The English Turn Community features private streets maintained by the
Property Owners Association and a speed limit of 25 mph within the
Community. The English Turn Community offers private tot lots and
playgrounds for residents.
